Not Convinced about the quality of Symtec's HeatDemons???..... Here are some customer reviews of our products.
I have to say I couldn't be more pleased. Earlier this year in February I installed a set of HD Heated Grips on my 2008 Harley Cross Bones. I thought they worked pretty well, but I did expect more for the price tag of 150 Bucks! Not to mention you dont have a lot of styles to choose from. So I wasn't happy about not being able to put the grips I wanted on my "Bones". Well Last month in "SEPTEMBER" I noticed that these things werent producing heat anymore. Not much anyway, ust a little bit. SO I got a little pissed and went ahead and bought those BEAUTIFUL brass grips from West Coast Choppers. Then I found these Heat Demons online and thought I'd givem a try. The price was right and the reviews SOUNDED really impressive. So I went ahead and bought everything they had. Heated Seat Pad, Heated Vest, Power Demon, and the Heat Demons for my BRASS GRIPS! I installed everything EXACTLY as the instructions said to, and went slow enough so that I didn't make any mistakes. But all I did was follow the instructions and used a little common electrical sense seeing how I was installing ALL of these things at once. It only took 5 hours. And that was with an hour break to tell my girlfriend good night on the phone. So 4 hrs of work actually. Plus It was at night in a dim lit garage. I didn't even test my connections until I got the battery hooked back up after I had installed everything. The install was very simple to follow. Then I fired these things up, and couldn't believe the heat that was coming out after just a few minutes. AND THEY JUST KEPT GETTIN HOTTER! At idle, after five minutes, I couldn't stand to squeeze my grips for more than a few seconds. These things get HOT! I had the vest plugged in too. I havent tested it under my jacket yet, but it was OBVIOUSLY puttin out a good amount of heat. The light show that I got on the handlebars also adds to the overall appearance of the bike. And everything matched up with my bike perfectly as if Harley made these things themselves. The Heated grips I bought from Harley were only what I would call "warm". AND they burned out after just six months AND MOST OF THAT WAS SUMMER! . Oh and according to Harley? Unless I got them installed at the dealer, THERE IS NO WARRANTY ON HARLEY HEATED GRIPS!! The're POOP!
Anyway, those were indeed warm for the short bit that they worked. The Heat Demons that are now on my bike.... ARE JUST PLAIN DAMN HOT! I tested them out on level 4 of course. My girlfriend can also sit on the back and wear the heated vest because the power chord provided by HEAT DEMONS is plenty long enough to reach the back seat as well. So I dont have to hear her complain either:))))) I havent tested the Heated seat yet, because I'm currently having that installed in some custom seats that I am currently having made. But judging by the obvious quality of the stuff that I installed combined with the testimonials I've read about the quality of the customer service if something does go wrong(EVEN THOUGH THAT APPEARS TO BE RARE!). I am sure I will be more than satisfied with everything made by this company. My Neighbor by the way has had his HARLEY heated grips replaced twice. His third set just broke again! And he came over to my garage and felt the heat coming from my AWESOME HOT BRASS GRIPS, and he couldn't believe the price after I told him. I showed him the wiring and all of the stuff that was sent for the install, and he was equally as impressed as I was. And he's been riding for 30+ years. So if your reading this, spread the word, and lets keep this company in business. I'll be providing a picture tomorrow of the install on my Harley to go with this testimonial. I'm not buttering this up at all folks! I'm a hard to please S.O.B. I'm career military and I am very picky and seldom does anything meet my demands. Heat Demons exceeded them.....

I installed your system on my 09 Street Glide this Saturday.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist so since it was raining in NJ this weekend I took my time.
Took me 7 hours from bat wing off, to bat wing on..... but I was impressed every step of the way.
Your instructions were virtually flawless, that plastic Fish tape included in the kit is worth it's weight in gold!
I'm saving that tape for future snakes....
The plastic snap grease connectors were impressive as well.
The controller is impressive and so is the heat!
Harley has NOTHING on you guys......NOTHING!

It has been a year since I installed the heat Demons on my Electra glide so I thought I would tell you what I think. Great product! I spent the summer up in Alaska and rode on some cold rainy days and my hands were never cold but what really sold me was when I had to ride the interstate in Texas at 15degrees. It was one of those cross countries where you have no choice but to ride to make your appointment. When I saw the temperature as I went out the door, I wondered how miserable this ride was about to be. It wasn’t. Three hours later I was at my destination with warm hands. Heat Demons are well engineered and work great keep me posted on your next innovation.
As you know I live in Florida, and when riders see the switch on my left handlebar, they want to know what it is. When they find out it is for hand warmers they ask why I need them down here. After I explain about riding in Alaska and Canada, I tell them I use them in Florida more than you would think and tell them they are well worth the money even down here. Their answer is always “I just wear my gloves.” Bull! I guess I am the only rider who leaves wherever I am and decides I don’t need my gloves for this short 20 mile run. Shortly after taking off you realize you should have put on gloves. With Heat Demons you don’t have to pull over and put on gloves you just hit the switch and keep on going. They are also great for those times when you misjudge the rain cloud and decide to just ride through it. At least your hands don’t get cold. Your Heat Demons are well engineered and I am looking forward to your next innovation. Thanks for a great product!
I'm so glad I called you last week to find out that your Heat Demons would work on my Kawasaki Vulcan Classic. I brought the bike to my dealer Thursday night, and they installed them on my bike Friday. Well I picked the bike up Friday Night and was very impressed. Both the guys at the dealership and myself were anxiety waiting to see how they would work, for this was the first pair of heat Demons they had tried. They used other heated grips in the past that weren't nearly as nice as yours. Man! We all were amazed how nice they looked and how nice they worked. The guys install was better then I imagined. I have a friend with a new Harley Ultra, and he stated they were much better than his stock ones he had on his bike. I know my dealer will be selling only your Heat Demons from now on, and I know I will showing them to all my buddies. Thank You for a Great Product!

I was at Laconia this past Spring and I saw your setup at the Lobster Pound. Your salesman spent allot of time answering my questions and listening to my needs. I was very pleased. I have had very bad luck with the Harley Heated Grips. If they work at all forget about it below 45 degrees. They have since redesigned them. Big surprise!!!! They are CRAP!!!!! I purchased a set of your grip inserts and my friend installed them in my garage. Nice easy installation. I cant praise these grips enough!!!!!! They are excellent. I live in Syracuse New York and I ride until the ground is covered with snow and sometimes after. I took a ride last Sunday and It was in the thirties and the highest setting I used was 2. WOW they are great. I am trying to get many of my riding buddies to get these grips. Thank you for making a great product. They are a much needed item. My wife cant wear thick gloves when she rides so she needs them. Up until now she has had the Harley ones and they crap out all the time.Thanks again...Keith
SEWERAT--- I put a set of heat demons on my bike and a set on Sglicks bike, we love both sets, excellent look, and the heat is awesome, most of the time they are set on low.
YARVIS--- Just had a set of Heat Demons placed on my bike today. Initially they didn't knock my socks off, but 5 or so minutes when they reached proper operating temperature, I COULD'NT keep my hands on the grips! I had to lower them to level 3 and this was the most comfy for me. BTW, we only had a high of 34 today and when I was out it was close to that or just under that temperature wise. Once I got on the highway my hands were still nice and warm and toasty at level 3. Level 2 seems more suited for cool summer nights or so, I could barely feel them today at 2, then again my hand might have been burnt already from level 4. lol.
52EDUB---I installed them on my 06 SG and they were the best mod I ever had. Looks like OEM part and no moving parts/wires to break like heated hand grips. I wish that I could use them on my new 09 SG.
Symtec grip heaters rock!
With the help of a fellow stromtrooper (thanks Ken!) and a few beers, I installed Symtec grip heaters on Saturday. I could not be happier. Nice warmth on the low setting and quite toasty on high. For the Price, I don't see how they can be beat. A few comments on the install: It was mentioned in several threads that it helps to insulate the clutch-side to reduce heat loss into the bar. IMO this is absolutely not necessary. The left heating elements are coiled differently and have a lower resistance rating to compensate for any heat loss. I was considering installing the heaters on top of the stock grips, under Grip Puppies, but decided to install them under the stock grips/Grip Puppies. I am glad I did. The Symtecs seem to transfer plenty of heat through both grips...I think they would actually be a little too hot installed the other way. The included instructions we clear, but I question one minor detail. They say to drill a 13/16" hole for the round rocker switch. The switch is actually 3/4" with a key-way at 9 o'clock...like this:  I think it's better to drill a 3/4" hole and cut a notch with a knife...that way, the switch cannot rotate in the hole.

I’m going to get right to the point with this review. Heat Demons, for as well as they work, for as good as the final installation looks and for the ease of use have to take a back seat to the manufacturers customer service.
I bought a set of Heat Demons through Choppers-R-Us (name made up BTW) after trying out a couple of other different models. Believe me, unless you have a big fairing to hide ungodly large, clumsy looking switches into, just bite the bullet and buy Heat Demons. The Heat Demons showed up packaged nicely and sat under my desk for a couple of weeks. On one of those cold lazy autumn days with hot coffee and cold fingers I went out and did the installation.
Installation was straight forward with the instruction sheet giving two sets of how-to’s in case you want to do it on the bike or prefer to remove the handle bars. Routing the wiring is pretty simple with a main power line and ground coming up from the power source of your liking. Expect a 4-ampere draw. In my case I went right to the fused accessory four pin connector on the Dyna. The right bar heater wiring passes through the handlebar to the left side (with the help of an included snake). The switch wiring, heaters and main power line are all joined together at the left side of the bar with sealed compression type connectors. The wiring is stuffed into the bar end along with the heater element and its pretty much done. The element by the way is a springy foil material that is inserted into the bar end. It heats the bar ends from the inside out.
The real beauty of this setup is how everything looks factory done. The original OEM grips can be retained since the heating element slides into the bar and is hidden away. There are no unsightly wires dangling off the grips and best of all, the switch is built into a new clutch lever half clamp assembly. It’s a really slick nice looking setup. The only real work that’s involved is drilling a 5/16 inch hole through the grooved part of the handlebar to pass some wires through. It’s not a big deal if you can handle a drill. A rubber grommet seals the hole and wires that run through it. That’s it.
Now kudos for the Heat Demons guys there in Minnesota. I went through the installation instructions step by step. Took my time to do everything 100% with switch and heat tests before it all went together. Once it was all buttoned up I fired up the Dyna for a bar heat up test. I ran through the switch activation a couple of times to watch for the lights going through temperature settings 1 through 4. After shutting down and then coming back to try it again the lights lit then went to dim. They are supposed to dim when you hold the button in for three seconds so I figured they’d gone to dim for whatever reason. After a few minute I noticed no heat. I shut everything down then tried restarting the heaters. Nothing! A few diagnostic tests later I found the micro switch was not passing current.
I immediately sent an E-mail of to Choppers-R-Us along with one to Heat Demons. Choppers-R-Us never responded but Heat Demons did within a couple of hours. After a few quick questions they made a heartfelt apology and sent me more than what I needed to get the heaters going again. I offered to send back the bad parts but they said they don’t have enough problems with them to warrant analyzing the bad parts. It doesn’t end there. While I had the company head on one E-mail, the company tech engineer was on the other walking me through what he really thought it could be. I was hoping that he was right so that I could get the heaters going sooner, but it was not to be. The micro switch was faulty. In the end the new parts came priority mail and were put in and I was on the road in no time. The up side of this whole scenario is that I didn’t have to take the whole thing apart, send the parts to them and then wait for new parts. I was using the bike the whole time.
Using the Heat Demons is very simple. A click and press button that matches the Harley Davidson switchgear is built into the replacement clutch lever half clamp. Above it a series of color code LED’s that indicate heat strength one through four. You just keep pressing the button to up the heat level. The LED’s are actually behind a solid clear plastic diffusing bar that make the LED’s blend colors as they go up in level. Very neat and professional looking. The LED’s are bright enough to really stand out in the day and you have the option of going to night mode. Depress the switch for about three seconds and the LED’s will dim right out. They are low enough to see well but not distracting.
The Demons do take a few minutes to warm up. Iv ridden bikes with the heaters built right into the grip and they also take a little bit to come up to a nice heat. The Demons of course take a little longer since they heat through the handlebar and then grip. The difference in time up to temperature is not a great deal and when you consider how clean the grip installation is, it suddenly becomes a non-issue. Like I said, I’m using OEM grips and unless you took notice of the additional switch you wouldn’t know that there were heated grips on the bike.
Rideing in cool weather is much nicer with the heated grips. They are temperature controlled through four levels so you can set the heat for your desired comfort. I made the mistake of putting them at full heat on my first ride and after a few minutes I was searching for cool spots on the grips by moving my hands in and out. Duh.. I finally realized that all I had to do was turn them down. In forty degree, drizzly, overcast weather the Heat Demons only need to be run at level one. To get up to level four you really need to be down below freezing otherwise you can cook your hands. It’s really nice getting off the bike or coming to stop lights and not dropping my hands to the engine cases to warm them. The numb, freezing finger days are over with these and I really believe you ride safer when you can maintain good digit dexterity. The weather here now is between freezing and the low forties and I’m riding with un-insulated Elk-Deerskin gloves and very comfortable.
